Limited to 257 copies, 250 of them on paper. This is no.252, inscribed by Maurois to the writer Maurice Baring: "M.B. avec les youex de Noel 1828 de Simone et André Maurois". Maurois was an admirer of Baring's prose and after reading his novel "C" he declared that "no book had given him so much pleasure since reading of Tolstoy, Proust, and certain novels of E.M. Forster".

With Baring's bookplate designed by his friend and fellow author Hilaire Belloc.
