First published in 1964. This edition was printed by Sebastian Carter at the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge, and was limited to 400 copies.

25 copies were reserved for a special binding by James Brockman and were signed by him and Christopher Isherwood. The standard special binding was in green goatskin, with a linear design of coloured and gilt lines. An example was illustrated as item 347 in Maggs Bros. catalogue 1212. This copy is "out of series" and is in a unique binding dated 2008.

Brockman inserted a descriptive note at the end: "Specially dyed Japanese paper end-papers added; edges gilt before sewing; sewn on 4 x 6 mm linen tapes; spine glued and shaped; cushioned laminated boards laced on; double end-bands sewn; covered blue Nigerian goat-skin; lettered in black ink using a unique set of Edgar Mansfield designed hand letters; tooled with gold leaf using specially made finishing tool (the surface textured not engraved); the tooling was lightly over-tooled with a solid domed circular tool. A male profile in silhouette is outlined on each board".
