REFORMS TO NAPOLEON'S LAW PASSED DURING HIS FINAL PERIOD OF RULE

A modification to a law passed during Napoleon's last period of rule (20th March - 8th July 1815) concerning the collection of duties on beverages.
It recognises that although the law passed during Napoleon's return to power was "essentially illegal", it would be "provisionally maintained" as it represented an important branch of revenue for the State. Instead the law was reformed so that the taxable sum is reduced in favour of the taxpayer, if they were taxed beyond the value of their business.
