Each volume with an additional engraved title-page and engraved frontispiece in seven of the eight separate works (not present in Savage).
12 volumes. 12mo. [127 x 80 x 164 mm]. Contemporary binding of marbled calf, the covers with a gilt fillet border. Smooth spines divided into six panels with gilt compartments, lettered "Bell's Poets" in the second on a red goatskin label, with the author's name in the fourth on a black label, and numbered or tooled with a star in the sixth on a green label, the others with the star, the edges of the boards hatched in gilt, plain endleaves, light yellow edges. (Lightly rubbed with a few small chips to headcaps).
