Bound in near contemporary dark blue goat skin, the covers with a blind border and a gilt and blind panel enclosing a very large gilt centre block, gilt spine, edges of the boards and turn-ins tooled in gilt, pale yellow glazed endleaves, gilt edges. (A few very minor scuffs to the boards).

Light foxing to tissue guards as to be expected otherwise very clean, overall in near fine condition.

85 leaves of which 65 (some being double sided), contain a mixture of pencil sketches, verses written in manuscript, water colours, illustrations on silk and caricatures with hand colouring, many of which are framed with ornamental gilt metallic borders.
