A fine copy. With the bookplates of Francis Frederick Fox and Frederic Castle and booklabels of A. N. L. Munby (1913-1974), renowned librarian, bibliographer and collector, and John Porter, who bought the book from H. P. Kraus in 1986. There is also the bookseller's label of William George's Sons Ltd. of Bristol.

The first catalogue printed by Whittingham for Henry Stevens, the Vermont-born bibliographer and bookseller who moved to London in 1845. Whittingham and Stevens shared family ties, with Whittingham's daughter Charlotte, marrying Henry Stevens's brother, Benjamin Franklin Stevens.
