[214 x 145 x 38 mm]. xxii, 490 pp. Bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in full black morocco, the boards tooled in gilt with a double fillet border, the spine divided into six panels by tooled raised bands, lettered in gilt in the second. The turn-ins tooled in gilt with a floral roll, marbled endleaves, edges of the boards tooled in gilt, top edge gilt, the others uncut.

Galeazzo Ciano, conte di Cortellanzo (1903-1944), was an Italian diplomat and politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs under the government of his father-in-law, Benito Mussolini, from 1936 until 1943. He was a key figure in Italy's fascist regime and played an influential role in bringing about Italy's entry into World War II.

The original Italian edition of this work is entitled: L'Europa Verso La Catastrofe.
