Claudine, or Humility, the Basis of all the Virtues. A Swiss Tale. By the Author of "Always Happy", "Nina", "True Stories from Ancient History" &c. &c.

Engraved frontispiece and five plates, each with two illustrations.

Fourth Edition. 12mo. [169 x 105 x 18 mm]. [2]ff, 200 pp. Bound in the original quarter maroon roan, pink boards, printed with the title on the front and Harris's device on the rear, smooth spine divided into five panels with gilt fillets, lettered in the second, plain endleaves and edges. (Small loss at foot of the spine, slightly rubbed).
London: [printed by S. and R. Bentley for] John Harris, Corner of St. Paul's Church-Yard, 1825.

First published by Harris in 1822, there is no copy of this edition on Library Hub, and only one copy, at the University of Amsterdam, on the other sites. It is a fine copy, in original printed boards. With the contemporary (or early) label of "Fletcher, Bookseller & Binder, Southampton" and ink stamp of "Zenas Jones / Bookseller / Bargoed". Bargoed is a town in the Rhymney Valley in Glamorgan.
