Mixed editions. 8vo. [237 x 155 x 565 mm]. Uniformly bound in various coloured cloths, the spines lettered in gilt on labels, each with a corn husk doll figure blocked onto the front board, illustrated endpapers, housed in protective slip cases. (A few of the labels with very minor wear).

All internally clean, a uniform ownership inscription to each of the half titles which is small and neat. Overall an excellent set in near fine condition.

Fourteen of the volumes are first folio editions, The Return of the Native is a second impression (1972), The Mayor of Casterbridge a reprint (1986) and The Trumpet Major a sixth printing (1993).
