Rudolph Arnheim (1904-2007) was a German-born film and art theorist, Gestalt psychologist, author and professor. Originally published as Film als Kunst in Berlin in 1932, the book was banned by the Nazi party and Arnheim left the country and eventually settled in the USA in 1940.
