Also, its spas, places of worship, public charities, baths; promenades, hunting districts and public amusements.

Illustrated with forty original engravings on steel, taken expressly for this work, including the spas (interior and exterior), the churches, and principal public buildings.

Title vignette, 40 engraved plates and 2 folding maps.

First edition, two parts in one. 12mo. [180 x 112 x 16 mm]. iv, 110 pp, plus 28 pp adverts. Original publisher's printed boards. (A little soiled, spine slightly chipped and fragile but holding).

Internally clean, a very good copy.

Provenance: Maggs Bros. pencil note to front paste-down " Ex Sir Thomas Phillipps, Middle Hill'. With Phillipps's pencil "MH" [Middle Hill], and "Glouc, 121" at the head of the front paste-down.

Noteworthy due to Middle Hill's close proximity to Cheltenham.
