Internally very clean with bright coloured lithographs by Max Ernst. Previously owned by Rudolf Nureyev. Although there is no ownership inscription or book plate it was part of a collection to be sold on behalf of the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation, (authentication of ownership may be provided).
Max Ernst (1891-1976) was considered a pioneer of the Dada movement and of surrealism in Europe. Lieux Communs features twelve of Ernst's collages and eleven poems, highlighting his aptitude as an artist of both images and words.
