[229 x 153 x 17 mm]. 125pp. Bound by Bayntun-Riviere in 1953 in red goatskin, the covers tooled in gilt with a border of three fillets, interlocking at the corners and centre of the vertical sides and with a vertical central panel of multiple fillets with stylised flowers in the middle. The spine divided into six panels with raised bands and gilt compartments, lettered in the second and third, the others with a reduced version of the cover design, the edges of the joints tooled with a gilt fillet, the turn-ins with a gilt roll, cloud marbled endleaves, gilt edges (traced of insect activity on lower turn-in of rear cover).

With a George Bayntun invoice dated 25th November 1953, addressed to Alexander Selkirk Esq, 188 Earl Street, Scotstown, W. Glasgow, "To binding in full red morocco, g.e., gilt design, £4.4.0", plus a shilling for postage. It is an unusual Bayntun design and may have been Mr. Selkirk's own creation.
