12mo. ci, [i], 257, [1] pp. Bound in contemporary polished marbled calf, the covers with a gilt triple fillet border, smooth spine lettered on a long red goatskin label with additional gilt tooling, the remainder of the spine tooled in gilt to a lattice design, the edges of the boards tooled with a gilt fillet and the turn-ins with a gilt roll, marbled endleaves, gilt edges.

Occasional light foxing but a fine copy, from the court library of the Furstenberg's at Donaueschingen, with their ink stamp and strips of paper and tape stuck to the head and foot of the spine and marked with the author's name and a shelf-mark. The date "1804" has also been written in ink on the lettering-piece. The library contained a number of bindings in this style, and they were probably bound locally or by a journeyman working at the castle. They are very attractive.
