[6]ff, 250, [4] pp. Bound by Jotau (Joseph Taupin) in dark red pollopas resin (bakelite), silver metal inlay to the upper board and the spine, piano hinges, signed 'Reliure Jotau, Brevete SGDG', metallic patterned paper endleaves, top edge gilt. (Some loss to the foot of the spine as well as a small chip to the top corner of the rear board).

Internally very clean, endleaves ever so slightly detaching, overall in very good condition.
A handsome bakelite binding from the studio of Brodard & Taupin. Produced by Joseph Taupin, under the pseudonym Jotau, these pollopas resin bindings were short-lived, being discontinued after 1933 largely due to the high cost of manufacture and their brittle nature.
