First Edition. 12mo. [168 x 100 x 21 mm]. viii, xl, 291 pp. Bound in contemporary dark brown calf over slightly bevelled boards, the covers with a blind tooled border. The spine divided into six panels, lettered in the second on a lighter brown goatskin label and the others tooled in blind, marbled endleaves, red edges. (The leather slightly faded at the head of the front cover and slightly rubbed).

London: [by Charles Whittingham for] William Pickering, 1842

Porter 383. 1000 copies were printed. This is a fine one in an attractive "old-style" binding.
