Bound c.1885 by Riviere & Son (stamp to front flyleaf) in contemporary half green goatskin with marbled paper sides, spines divided into six panels double gilt fillet borders to the leather, spine divided into six panels, lettered in the gilt in the second and third, marbled endleaves, top edges gilt. (Spines a touch rubbed and faded).

Inscription on front fly-leaf of volume one reads: 'Xmas 1888 with dear love' with initials. The odd minor foxing, with frontispiece and title pages lightly toned, a very good set overall, handsomely bound by Riviere and Son.
