Edited with Preface and Notes by William M. Rossetti.

Two volumes. 8vo. [197 x 130 x 96 mm]. xlii, [ii], 528 pp; xl, 521 pp. Bound in the publisher's original dark blue cloth, the covers blocked in gilt to a floral design, matching spines lettered in gilt, blue floral endleaves, untrimmed edges. (Headcaps slightly bumped).
London: Ellis and Elvey, 1890.

A very good copy. Neat ink inscription on the half title in vol.1: "Roger Clark. With much love from his aunt Priscilla Bright McLaren. Newington House, Edinburgh, April 28th 1893". Priscilla (1815-1906) was the sister of John Bright and great-aunt to his grandson Roger Clark (1871-1961).

First published in 1886. The bindings were designed by Rossetti and originally used on his Ballards and Sommets published in 1881 by Ellis and White.
