Eight volumes. 8vo. [230 x 142 x 285 mm]. Bound in the original black cloth, the spines lettered in gilt, uncut edges. (Cloth slightly cockled in patches, later endleaves in vol.4).

The binding on vol.4 is a remboitage, having been taken from a matching set of Smollett's History of England (1827), with the author's name erased. Some minor spotting or foxing but a very good copy. With the ink ownership inscription of E. J. Herbert, Eton College, 1834.
