Engraved frontispiece and additional engraved title in each volume and ten plates.

Three volumes. 12mo. [147 x 90 x 74 mm]. 312pp; 312pp; 310, [2] pp. Bound in contemporary tree calf, smooth spines divided into six panels by gilt pallets, lettered in the second and sixth on red goatskin labels, numbered in the fourth on black labels, the others with a central medallion tool, the edges of the boards hatched in gilt, plain endleaves and edges. (Headcaps a little worn with short crack at foot of vol.1).
London: printed for C. Cooke, No.17 Paternoster-Row, and sold by all the Booksellers in Great Britain and Ireland, [1801?]

The engravings are dated from 1797 to 1801. A few spots and minor marks, but a very good copy. With the final leaf "Catalogue of the Works already Published of Cooke's Uniform Cheap and Elegant Pocket Library". Tom Jones was issued in 13 numbers, at a combined price of 6s 6d. The binding would have been extra. With the elegant engraved label of Ann Nicholls.
