Old repair to recto of outer margin of frontispiece, some soiling and minor staining throughout and with an early ink signature at the foot of the title. Not a very attractive copy, but complete and rare, with only one copy on Library Hub, at Oxford. First published anonymously in 1777 as The Champion of Virtue, a new edition appeared in 1778 under this revised title and in Reeve's own name.
