The Poetical Works. COLERIDGE (Samuel Taylor).

£900.00

The Poetical Works, Including the Dramas of Wallenstein, Remorse, and Zapolya.

Second Collected Edition. Three volumes. 8vo. [204 x 128 x 104 mm]. Bound in the original puce cloth over boards, the spines with printed paper labels, plain endleaves, uncut edges. (Spines a little faded).

London: [printed by Thomas White for] William Pickering, 1829

Printed in an edition of 300 copies. The second collected, but first approved edition, differing significantly from the edition of 1828 and deemed by JP to be "the best". "The edition of 1828 was very deliberatly discarded by the poet and the edition of 1834 was the work not of Coleridge but of his son-in-law .... the edition of 1829 alone contains the Author's final selection and text".

A fine copy, with the ink signatures of Lucretia Dayman, dated Jan 1st 1833. Bought from Dawson's in 1971.

Stock no. ebc8214
