First edition, second or third issue. 8vo. [190 x 130 x 25 mm]. 310 pp. Publisher's original maroon cloth, spine lettered and blocked in gilt, front board lettered in gilt, plain endpapers. (Spine faded and bumped with two tears at the head, corners and top edge a little bumped, binding firm but with a slight lean, otherwise a fine copy).

Light discolouration to endleaves otherwise the text block is very clean, previous owner's understated bookplate on front pastedown.
Issue points do not seem to have a general consensus however six titles are listed on the title-page verso, eighteen titles including the present work are listed in the publisher's ad at the rear and the "f" on the spine is uncrossed.
