Lacking the final blank leaf. The outer margin of pp.427-8 has been torn away with loss of a few side-notes and there is some small lines of worming in the outer margins of pp.445-454. With a number of ink inscriptions and scrawls, on the verso of the titles and in the margins, a number of them dated 1699. Signature of James Hoste on front paste-down. Occasional minor soiling and a few spots, but a good copy. This edition is rare, with ESTC recording 11 copies (St. John's College Cambridge, Dr. William's Library, Brasenose, Corpus Christi, and Magdalen Colleges Oxford, Bodleian, Thomas Plume's Library, York Minster; Folger, Huntington and Princeton Theological Seminary). All three treatises had been previously published separately: The Cure of Cares in 1627,1628 and 1630, Contentment in God's Gift three times in 1630, and The Tribunall in 1626, 1627 and 1630. Henry Mason (1575/6-1647) was born and died at Wigan, described himself as "Parson of S. Andrews Undershaft London" on the titles, and was an important figure in English Arminianism.
