[222 x 145 x 64 mm]. xx, [ii], 445 pp; xv, [iii], 435, [1] pp. Contemporary binding by Birdsall & Son of Northampton (signed with an ink pallet on front endleaves) of half green goatskin, marbled paper sides flanked with gilt triple fillets. The spines divided into six panels with gilt tooled raised bands, lettered in the second and fourth and at the foot, the others with a thistle within a compartment, marbled endleaves, top edge gilt. (Corners a little bumped).
