With 3pp of advertisements at the end, including a list of Ipswich Temperance Publications. A very good copy, inscribed in ink "William S. Clark from his affectionate mother 22nd of 2nd month 1864". This was a 25th birthday present given to William Stephens Clark (1839-1925) by his mother Eleanor Clark (née Stephens). The work proved popular, amongst Temperance advocates, and a sixth edition was published in 1866.
